Our Animal Feed Lime is an essential calcium supplement designed to increase livestock performance
Bennettsbridge Limestone has been manufacturing Feed Grade Limestone Powders since 1993. Our Animal Feed Lime is an essential calcium supplement which can be fed to livestock to encourage further growth and development.
Ground limestone (calcium carbonate) is a common and economical calcium source for animals. Pure calcium carbonate contains one of the highest levels of elemental calcium—40%.
A deficiency or imbalance in calcium can cause poor growth rates, poor bone development, reduced milk output and more obviously milk fever.
Our animal feed products are fully certified by:
- Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
- FEMAS (Feed Materials Accreditation Scheme)
Application Method
Bennettsbridge Limestone Animal Feed Lime can be fed through a diet feeder or more simply thrown on the silage in front of the stock. For information on specific supplementation rates please contact your vet, animal health adviser or nutritionist.
Precautions
- DO NOT FEED TO PREGNANT COWS IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS OF PREGNANCY, except under veterinary advice
- Lime Flour should not be added to the silage at the time of laying the stack down
